How does your AI Tutor support safeguarding?
Safeguarding is at the heart of everything we do.
Our AI Tutor has been designed to provide a safe, supportive, and privacy-conscious learning environment for students while helping schools meet their safeguarding responsibilities.
We operate in alignment with UK safeguarding expectations, including Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) guidance and GDPR data protection requirements.
How are safeguarding concerns identified?
The platform includes an automated safeguarding flagging system designed to identify potentially concerning language and behaviours.
If a student uses language that may indicate a safeguarding concern, the interaction is immediately flagged and a notification is sent to the appropriate member of staff for review.
This allows schools to identify potential concerns early and respond in line with their existing safeguarding procedures.
How does the AI respond to concerning situations?
The AI Tutor is designed to respond in a safe, age-appropriate manner at all times.
Where appropriate, it will seek to de-escalate situations, encourage positive behaviour, and guide students towards appropriate support.
The AI does not make safeguarding decisions independently. Any safeguarding concerns identified by the platform are referred to school staff, who remain responsible for reviewing and acting on them where necessary.
What information is stored?
We take a privacy-first approach to student data.
The platform does not retain complete records of every conversation a student has with the AI Tutor. Instead, it stores learning insights and educational progress data that help personalise future learning experiences and support student development.
Where a safeguarding concern is identified, relevant information may be retained to support safeguarding review and follow-up by authorised school staff.
Does the platform collect voice recordings or facial data?
No.
We do not collect, store, or process facial recognition data, biometric data, or voice recordings.
Student privacy is a core principle of our platform design, and no facial or voice data is retained by the system.
Is the platform GDPR compliant?
Yes.
Data protection and privacy are fundamental considerations in our platform design. We follow GDPR principles by minimising the amount of personal data retained, processing information securely, and ensuring that data is only used for legitimate educational and safeguarding purposes.
How do schools maintain oversight?
Human oversight is a fundamental part of our safeguarding approach.
The platform is designed to support, not replace, the professional judgement of teachers, safeguarding leads, and school leadership teams.
While the AI can identify and flag potential concerns, all safeguarding decisions, investigations, and interventions remain the responsibility of trained school staff.
What is your overall approach to safeguarding?
Our philosophy is simple: student safety comes first.
We believe educational technology should enhance learning while protecting privacy and supporting schools in their safeguarding responsibilities.
By combining proactive safeguarding alerts, privacy-first data practices, responsible AI design, and human oversight, we help schools harness the benefits of AI while maintaining the highest standards of student safety and wellbeing.
MathaMentor is an AI-powered GCSE maths tutoring platform designed to be used in a school classroom setting. It delivers hyper-personalised maths lessons that adapt in real time to each student’s ability, knowledge gaps, and learning style. When a student joins the platform, they complete an initial assessment that allows the AI to map exactly where they are in the curriculum. From that point, MathaMentor builds a tailored learning journey for each individual, adjusting questions, difficulty levels, and topic sequencing automatically, so every student is always working at the right level for them.
No, we recommend that MathaMentor sessions complement your existing timetable rather than replace it. The platform is designed to work alongside your teachers’ lessons, not instead of them. In practice, this typically means adding one dedicated MathaMentor session per week, or using it as a structured supplement to your regular GCSE Maths provision.
When a student first uses MathaMentor, they choose a personal avatar and complete a short assessment quiz. The AI uses the results to identify their current position in the curriculum, their strengths, and the specific gaps in their understanding. It then builds a unique learning plan for that student, one that adjusts continuously as they progress. If a student struggles with a concept, the platform adapts immediately, revisiting it with different approaches until it is understood. If a student is excelling, difficulty increases to keep them challenged and engaged. No two students follow the same path.
What does each student need to get started?
Every student has their own individual login, so their progress, performance data, and AI interactions are completely personal to them. To access MathaMentor, each student will need a computer, iPad, or Chromebook, plus a pair of headphones. That’s it, no specialist hardware or software installation required.
Students log in individually, put on their headphones and work through their personalised learning pathway with their AI tutor. Because each session is tied to a unique student login, no two experiences are identical, the platform responds to each student’s pace, strengths, and gaps. Teachers can monitor progress in real time and step in where needed, making it a genuinely collaborative tool rather than a hands-off screen-time activity.
MathaMentor is built to scale to your school’s needs. Plans are structured around hours of use per month rather than a fixed number of simultaneous users, which gives schools genuine flexibility. The Foundation plan includes 300 hours per month, the Higher plan includes 600 hours, and the Excellence plan includes 1,000 hours, suitable for small classes through to large schools. Schools with unique requirements can also request a fully bespoke plan with unlimited hours.
Absolutely. MathaMentor is built for flexibility. Sessions can be increased or reduced throughout the year based on where your students are in the curriculum, how much support is needed, and what else is happening in the timetable, for example, scaling up in the run-up to (mock) exams or end-of-year assessments.
No! Reducing teacher workload is a core design principle of MathaMentor. The AI handles lesson delivery, question setting, difficulty adjustment, and progress tracking automatically. Teachers do not need to plan or prepare MathaMentor sessions in the traditional sense. Instead, they retain oversight and control through the dashboard, stepping in where their expertise and judgment are most needed. For schools where staffing and time pressures are a constant challenge, MathaMentor is built to be an asset, not an extra responsibility.
Teachers have their own dedicated login and access to MathaMentor’s real-time dashboard. The dashboard provides a clear, at-a-glance view of how every student is performing, showing who is making progress, who needs support, and where gaps exist across the class as a whole. Teachers can set lessons directly through the platform and receive full accountability data on how the platform is performing against learning objectives. The system is specifically designed to provide the insights that teachers need without creating additional administrative burden.
MathaMentor is designed to support all students, including those with special educational needs. The platform’s hyper-personalised approach means it meets every student exactly where they are, without the pressure or social anxiety that can come from a traditional classroom setting. Students are never embarrassed to ask a question or admit they don’t understand something when working with an AI tutor. MathaMentor’s team includes a dedicated SEN Specialist Teacher and Consultant, reflecting a genuine commitment to inclusive learning. Schools with specific SEN requirements are encouraged to get in touch to discuss how the platform can be configured to best support their students.
MathaMentor supports all major GCSE maths exam boards in the UK. Whether your school follows AQA, Edexcel, OCR, or another recognised board, MathaMentor delivers structured, curriculum-aligned content that prepares students for their specific qualification. Schools do not need to adapt or configure content by exam board, the platform handles it.

All three plans give schools access to the full MathaMentor platform, the same AI, and 24/7 support, the difference is the volume of hours available per month. The Foundation plan provides 300 hours per month at £24 per hour, making it ideal for smaller classes or schools getting started. The Higher plan offers 600 hours at £23 per hour, suited to most schools. The Excellence plan provides 1,000 hours at £22 per hour, designed for larger schools with greater demand. Schools can upgrade at any time, and a fully bespoke Tailored Plan is available for schools with specific requirements.
Getting started with MathaMentor is straightforward and requires no complex IT setup. Once a pricing plan is selected, teachers are given access to the dashboard and students are enrolled, a process that takes minutes, not days. There is no lengthy implementation project or technical configuration required. Schools can be up and running, with students actively learning, almost immediately after signing up. Every school also has their own dedicated MathaMentor account manager who is on-hand to help with on-boarding or any other questions.
Yes. MathaMentor offers a fully flexible Tailored Plan for schools whose needs fall outside the standard pricing tiers. Whether your school is unusually large, has a particular timetabling structure, or requires a specific volume of hours, the team will work with you to design a plan that fits. Pricing for the Tailored Plan is custom and based on your school’s individual size, structure, and requirements.
